Fall Family Photos 2015

The story behind this picture is quite simple. We wanted Emilee to sit in the chair and hold Hudson. She didn't want to. Hahah This one will be cherished forever!

Sibling love cont...

The first time I put both of you in the cart at Cost was awesome. Hudson was just so excited to be sitting like a big boy and you were just so excited to have a little buddy next you :)

And a family picture from the zoo

Emilee-Three years

Oh sweet child of mine. I love you so. You test my patience these days though!! You are very strong willed and Type A as Papa might say. You're smart, too smart sometimes. Just this last week, we've got you using the potty, yay! I seriously was beginning to think this day would never come.

You love to collect rocks. There are rocks all over our cars and all over our house. You truly leave no stone unturned =P

You love going to Costco for the samples and the food court. It's simply not acceptable to go without getting a slice of pizza and eating it there. We cannot take it to go. That's not even an option with you. You love to sit and people watch and visit with our table neighbors.

There were some old cupcakes in the refrigerator that I had thrown away. You wanted to eat one, or all of them perhaps.
You went through this stage where you hated, I mean hated sleeping in your crib, even though it was converted to a toddler bed. You would sleep on the cold hard floor in your room, ours or in the hallway. See below :) You now have a big girl bed that you love and that we occasionally sleep in with you.
Your first official haircut. Every previous trim has resulted in tears and a major breakdown. For this one though, you were awesome.
Super proud of your pretty new hair :)

Despite the frustration you sometimes cause us, you're perfect. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Love you,
Mama

Hudson--Six months

For the life of me, I can't figure out how you are six months old already! It's true what they say. Time flies when you're having fun. You are a BIG boy. Solid. Your nickname is "Tank." It fits you well. You're 19 pounds already. You love bouncing in your jumper, rolling over, army crawling and drooling. You have one tooth! So far your favorite foods are avacados and bananas You do not sleep well at all. Not at night and not during the day. I hope we can get that fixed soon. Despite that, I love you so incredibly much.

Seriously though.. Those lips. Ahhhhh :)

Love you,
Mama

Hudson--Four months

Hudson man!

You're 4 months old now and a whopping 17 pounds 7 ounces and 25.5 inches long. You are a completely awesome baby. I love how squishy you are and you love to snuggle. Here are some photos from the last few weeks!

Just chillin' with your Great Grandpa
You love sleeping on your tummy. In fact, you won't sleep for any long length of time unless you are on your stomach.
Your smiles and giggles- they are simply the best.
I'm pretty sure the age recommendation for this two is 6 or 8 months but you've been strong enough to play in this activity center for over a month now. You have so much fun jumping up and down and pushing buttons and making noise with this thing!
You got shots a few weeks ago and you weren't feeling too good afterwards. So sister gave you her doll to swing with. :)
 Be still my heart <3

 <3<3<3
My two most favorite men in the whole wide world.

Love you,
Mama

Stay this cute forever

My sweet Emilee and Hudson-

The joy I get from seeing the two of you interact together is unmatched. Please please, love eachother and stay this cute forever.

Love,
Mama

Fun Times in Colorado

This past weekend we took a little trip to Colorado. It was tons of fun. We took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy going to the park for an unrestricted amount of time, walking by the river and feeding some fish. I adore the way children enjoy the simpliest of things. It was thoroughly enjoyable to say the least.

Hudson--Three months

The last 3 months are a complete blur and not even in a bad way. It has been kind of hectic but I finally feel like we've settled into our crazy and it's just normal now. And I love it. Being a mom is exactly how I always imagined my life would be. Adding another child to our family has been perfect.

Hudson, my man. You are something special. You are completely laid back and you just go with the flow. You're 3 months now. There was definitely a slight learning curve. You hated to be swaddled and you will not take a pacificer to save our life. Those were our two "aces" with Emilee so we had to learn some new tricks with you. Basically, just holding you does it. You're getting heavy though! You started off at 8 lbs 8oz, dropped to 7lb 15oz when we left the hospital. By 1 month, you were 10 lbs 2 oz and at 2 months you were 14 lbs 5 oz. I'm anxious to see how much you weigh next time we go to the doctor!

You had a head full of semi light colored hair when you were born. It gradually got darker and then lighter again and now it's falling out. You were born with the bluest eyes, just like your sister. They've lightened up some now but are still a shade of blue. We'll see if they stay that way :)

I love dressing you up and playing with you and just watching you sleep.

Love you sweet boy.
Mama

Sibling Love

I always wanted to have children fairly close in age. Having said that, I did have some reservations due to that fact that kids tend to fight and there's always the chance that one will be excessively jealous of the other. To be fair, we're only three months in, but I'm super happy that things are going great so far. We use to joke around that Hudson was late being born due to that fact that he heard Emilee and was scared to come out. But he absolutely adores her. I've never seen a small baby light up like he does when she is around. And she is so kind, gentle and affectionate with him. She smothers him with love. She says, "Baby Hudson so cute," and "I'm so proud of you." When he cries she says, "It's okay, mamas got you (referring to herself)."  Makes this mama's heart melt.

Here's the video of when we brought Hudson home from the hospital.
